SUMMER COLLEGE AT CORNELL

Each year, Dorson Community Foundation selects a small cohort of program participants to receive full scholarships to attend three-week summer sessions at Cornell University Summer College for High School Students. The students take college-level courses with renowned faculty, interact with students from around the world, and experience life on a college campus.

Volunteer

We are seeking volunteers to help with student tracking and follow-ups, as well as to provide mentorship and internship opportunities for this cohort.

At Cornell Summer College, I was able to meet socially conscious, brilliant, and passionate people with a similar ambition to succeed. The campus environment helped me get accustomed to interacting with people of different races and prepared me for working with a variety of people in the future

My favorite program was the Cornell University Summer College because it was like a new adventure for me and I met the most amazing and loving friends. The program has helped me improve my art and desire to excel academically, as well as socially.

Jazmin

Newark Tech, 2020

Through Cornell Summer College, I gained more reading and listening skills. After reading Shakespeare and depicting various concepts related to the text, I gained a better view of psychology as well. Most importantly, I learned what the definition of a Scholar is: it is one who reads, listens, observes, and expresses what he knows thereafter.
