Founded in 1992 and tax-exempt in 1997, it has been the mission of Dorson Community Foundation, Inc. (DCF) to provide inner‐city youth, in Essex and surrounding counties, with a creative outlet and a meaningful alternative lifestyle to one involving drugs and gangs.
The Foundation is dedicated to its mission of opening doors, creating opportunities, encouraging continuing education and developing a sense of self-worth for the youth of the community. The Foundation attracts teachers and investors alike who are truly motivated by a desire to give something back to their community and to help these young people with guidance and direction to become the community leaders of tomorrow.
