We are pleased to announce a new and unique partnership with Tenna, an Internet of Things (IoT) tech company based in Edison, NJ. Through this partnership, Tenna will be providing Dorson Scholars with internships, and an opportunity to deepen their understanding of STEM careers while gaining professional work experience.
Tenna recently hired their first Dorson Scholar, Fatiyah, a rising 10th grader and aspiring Electrical Engineer who started as a Product & Engineering Intern on Monday, July 27th. Fatiyah reports directly to Tenna's Co-Founder, Jose Cueva, who served as a guest speaker for our Career Development Course this past December. We are thrilled about this exciting, new opportunity for Fatiyah and future Dorson Scholars.
This partnership marks the beginning of a long-term pipeline-to-employment initiative with Tenna. Our shared vision is to prepare Dorson Scholars for employment at Tenna through internship opportunities spanning high school through college. Through this partnership, we aim to prepare our Scholars for the increasing technological jobs of tomorrow, and offer access to the resources, knowledge, and social capital they need on their pathways to career success.
