Meet Tyler: A Dorson Scholar

Meet Tyler!

Tyler is shy and soft-spoken, but observant. Some of his passions are basketball and video games. Though he has an interest in S.T.E.M, he allows his creativity to flow through drawing.

What are some of your hobbies?

Some of my hobbies are drawing, playing video games, and playing basketball.

What genre of music do you like?

My favorite genre of music is Hip Hop.

What is your favorite movie?

My favorite movie would have to be Central Intelligence.

Who is your favorite actor/artist/celebrity? Why?

One of my favorite actors is Adam Sandler because I find him funny and he plays his roles well.

If you use social media, which is your most preferred?

My most preferred would be Instagram.

Cake or ice cream?

I would choose cake over ice cream.

Would you like to live to 100? Why or why not?

I would and I wouldn’t because I would be able to experience a lot of things but the older I get the weaker my immune system gets.

If you won 1 million dollars today, what would you do with it?

If I was to win 1 million dollars today, I would use it to take care of my family and distribute it among them and also donate a part of it to charity.

If you could choose a superpower, what would you choose?

If I was able to choose a superpower, it would be the power to manipulate time.

Who/What is your inspiration? Why?

My inspiration would probably be my family and Dwayne Johnson because of their drive and motivation.

If you could send a message to your 30-year-old self, what would it be?

If I could send a message to my 30-year-old self, it would basically be me hoping all is going well for myself in the next 15 years.

What are your three greatest takeaways from the Dorson Scholars Program after completing year one?

My three greatest takeaways from the Dorson Scholars Program are to have and make connections, take opportunities when given, and to have confidence and believe in your self.
