Laurel Bernstein serves on the Board of Dorson Community Foundation helping with fundraising, programming and community service initiatives. As an Executive Business Coach and former educator, Laurel brings unique value to Dorson combining her business acumen and experience as a teacher.

What is your personal philosophy?

As much as possible make sure you are giving people what they need. Nothing in the world feels better than helping someone know or do something you know or can do for them.

What three traits define you?


Positive. Generous. Thoughtful.

Who/What is your biggest inspiration? 


My son because he suggested that I spend my career being in charge.


What is your favorite movie/song/book?


Two films: Casablanca and Love Actually

What is your favorite word?


Listen.


What’s your favorite slang? New or Old.


My favorite phrase is “Not a clue!”


What’s your favorite breakfast food?

Everything bagel with lox, cream cheese, red onion, tomato and muenster cheese.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?


Blue.


Who is your favorite superhero?


Superman.


If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?


Singing... like a singer in a big band.


What do you do in your spare time?


Read, crossword puzzles, watch movies, get together with friends.

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited?


Rome.


If you could choose a superpower, what would you choose? Why?
